Family Support Program

A place to belong for athletes, families & friends

Special Olympics Arizona strives to involve families, extended families and care providers of athletes to participate and share in the joys and triumphs of the many programs Special Olympics Arizona offers at no cost.

Families are our most powerful and valuable asset.  Families help us coach, transport, raise funds, officiate, chaperone and train other volunteers.  Family members are also highly motivated and enthusiastic goodwill ambassadors.

Special Olympics Arizona can provide family members with a sense of pride in their athlete, a sense of accomplishment through sports and the hope of an exciting and bright future for the individual as an athlete and citizen in any community.

If your family or extended family includes a child or adult with an intellectual disability, we can offer you a sense of community.  Through participation in Special Olympics Arizona you can gain:
  • A support network of people with similar concerns, questions and life experiences
  • A place of acceptance, respect and belonging
  • Ongoing resources and programs at no cost

If you would like more information on how you can join our rewarding Family Support Program, working with others who believe in the bright futures of their children, fill out the Family Interest Form.

Family Resource Council

To support the growing interest of the families who provide the love, nurturing and support to our Special Olympics athletes, whether on or off the competition field; we at Special Olympics Arizona invite you to voice your opinions, assist in strategic planning as we continue to grow, and provide support to other families.  We look forward to building a strong and lasting Council committed to promoting family involvement.  The Family Resource Council (FRC) is just one way you can make a difference!

If you would like more information on becoming involved with the FRC or Family Support Program, fill out the Family Interest Form.
